Visual Art, Gallery, and Art Training Activities:
THE ART HUNGER
Our visual art project focuses on creating art; collaborating with, and instructing others; and engaging with the community.
Viva recruits and invites guest artists from other California communities to share techniques and perspectives with attention on diversity and inclusion.
Spoken Word and Poetry Activities:
Our Poetry and Spoken Word activities bring people together in creative ways through sharing experiences, fostering empathy, breaking down barriers and building community.
Activities address topics that are relevant to the residents to spark conversation and action.
Music Activities:
Through small concerts and jams, we bring together diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Music has a universal language that transcends cultural barriers and creates a sense of unity and connection among people.
Social Practice (Healthy Shasta) Activities:
The IOOF Hall serves as our social practice activation center and acts as a hub for Residents.
District Organizer and Healthy Shasta representatives share information and opportunities in person, at gatherings and through social media with residents who live within walking distance of the IOOF.

Resident meetings, group discussions are publicized and held by our Organizers.

Filmmakers record the Downtown Creative Corps project and create compelling, informative films that tell our communities story.
The Filmmakers gather information and conduct pre-production planning; such as the logistics of the shoots including determining locations, securing permission, hiring crew, and securing equipment.
